ice cream scoopOne hundred seventeen years ago, the crafty little tool used to dole out the delightful summer treat, ice cream, came into existence. The inventor, Alfred L. Cralle, who was then a porter in Pittsburgh, noted that ice cream was hard to dispense. It would stick to the spoons and ladles, causing servers to use both hands, and at least two implements to get the treat onto the cone. On February 2, 1897, the 35-year-old Cralle received the U.S. patent for his invention, the ice cream scoop, which was originally known as “Ice cream Mold and Disher.”

As the years passed, many companies got into the business of improving on the quality and functionality of the ice cream scoop. The family-run company, Jenaluca is well-known among home chefs as a company they can rely on for kitchen tools that will make their haven comparable to that of a professional chef. The company has not disappointed. Jenaluca recently released their highquality stainless steel ice cream scoop that makes a wonderful collector’s item.

Well-made, sturdy and comfortable are just some of the feedbacks customers give for the scoop. It is made of 18/8 food grade stainless steel, eliminating any concerns about harmful chemicals leaching into foods. Its unique ergonomic design makes it comfortable to hold in either hand. It is easy to use, clean and store, plus it serves multi-purposes, is anti-bacterial, stain-resistant and eco-friendly. The material used gives it a lustrous mirror-like polished finish.
